For the attention of Mr.Ward.

Dear Sirs,

Re: Production B.5. Chassis.

We confirm herewith that during the visit of Messrs. Evernden and Draper on June 1st, the following points were discussed:-

The Front Body Crossmember.

On PD.277 revised print, we showed the body front crossmember moved rearwards .250 to clear the rear engine mounting; it was agreed that you would arrange if possible to alter the body crossmember to suit.

Change Gear Lever.

The increased transverse travel of the change gear lever is essential for the gearbox used on Bentley. On 9.B.5. which is similar to production Bentley bodies we find there is no danger of the change gear lever lower end fouling the front seat. The change gear knob however practically fouls the seat cushion when in second gear. Unfortunately, we cannot move the change gear lever out at the top as it would be too close to the door in third gear. We believe however, that if care is taken in shaping the cushion at the corner, sufficient clearance can be obtained.

Cont'd......
