To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BJ. Copy to..... By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} T8460 SUPPLEMENTARY PETROL TANK. BJ2/H17.12.25. With reference to the scheme for turning on the reserve supply, it is understood that there is a dial and lever which will state clearly the three positions; 1. On; 2. Supplementary supply; 3. Off. The Sales Conference suggested on the 15th that it would be a safeguard to prevent drivers of other cars, mischievous boys, etc. meddling with this lever if the dial were marked:- M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} (= Main). R.{Sir Henry Royce} (= Reserve). O.{Mr Oldham} (= Off.) By this means the driver will understand what each of the letters means, but nobody else would be tempted to place the lever in the wrong position. This is only a small matter, but worth consideration in due course. PETROL GAUGE. It is understood that the new PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I will be fitted with a petrol gauge similar to that on the 20 h.p. Please let us know whether it is intended to standardise this. It is hoped that something better will be standardised, as it is so cheap-looking. B.J. | ||
