EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/JD.{J. Draper - Frames} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}12/MG.28.1.41. Handwritten: kite launching gear 2006 GLIDING WINCH. Herewith some information from Squadron Leader Buxton with regard to the Gliding Winch which he wants us to make, incorporating a P.III. engine on an R.A.F. trailer. As and when opportunity occurs I want your section to have a go at this winch so that they will all be making some contribution to the war effort. Obviously, we want to make it as simple as possible, with the minimum possible amount of design work. When the matter has been considered by you I should like to discuss it with you.
