Handwritten: (Magnetic type Season & Trip) No number or other distinguishing mark In reply to your memo EHL/LG311018 concerning the Stewart Speedometer parts for the Calcott, would you kindly note that these were despatched from here in the form of a small parcel by letter post on the 17th ultimo. If you are unable to trace this can you get the receiving department at your end to write to the Postal Authorities about it. It may be possible that the Stewart Company can replace these pieces without reference to the worn out parts, if so, we append below such particulars as we are able to supply for the purpose of identifying the parts. Handwritten text in left margin: These parts were to complete for driven pinion of gearbox & when turning the flexible shaft. Handwritten text next to illustrations: E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Bevel wheel, shaft, bush & complete piece driven by toothed ring on car wheel as in sketch. This top piece in which the bevel gear ran, was pushed into hole 'X' in the assembly of the drive, & was enclosed together with part shown in larger sketch which comprised a vertical worm drive enabling the steering of the car to be actuated without affecting the drive of the speedometer. | ||
