The question which is not definitely settled is the question of the clips, and we shew on this drawing two types, the one being similar to that fitted by Messrs Woodheads to the latest type of spring, and the other being a drop forging somewhat similar to the presentstandard clip. We should like both types of clip to be tried, but as they cannot very well be drop forged at the present stage, they might be made in phosper bronze castings, for the present. Would you please send prints and instructions to Messrs Woodhead and Messrs Firth, in the case of the latter making it clear that these springs are merely types or samples of what we shall probably want in the future.
