4. Item 4 on Agenda. Sticking Air Valves. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/KT.28.11.33.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said that the adoption of E's scheme for taking all the air through the air cleaner as adopted on the tank engines will considerably reduce this complaint.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} said that the new scheme can very easily be applied to existing cars.

Keep on Agenda with a view to standardisation.

5. Item 5 on Agenda. Clutch Control. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/MJ.9.6.33.

This is a servo vacuum control which reduces the clutch spring pressure when the throttle is closed or running with small opening.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} said that this device is being fitted to the car which C. uses for trials.

6. Item 6 on Agenda. Position of Improved 25 H.P.
New Carburetter giving improved power and speed. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/MJ.21.11.33. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}2/E23.11.33

This carburetter is the new design of R.R. straight through expanding carburetter which is now under test in the Experimental Dept., and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} reported that it gives increased power and speed.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} at this point asked for permission to build a new 20/25 H.P. Experimental car and this was agreed to. The new car will have:-

1. R.R. Expanding Carburetter.
2. Flexible mounted silencer and Exhaust System.
3. Controllable Shock Dampers.
4. Easy Brake Adjustment.
5. Vibrator Control,

and numerous other items, a complete list of which will be prepared by E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and submitted to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} and Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}

Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} raised the question of a further improved 20/25 H.P. and E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} said that the next step would be to introduce the J.III. type of frame, and this would not be available for about six months.

After some discussion it was agreed that a 20/25 with J.III. type of frame should be built up as soon as the designs are available.
