Minute No. -3- Hyl/R.30.11.33. 7. Not on Agenda. Further Material Supplies. The question of ordering up further material for 20/25 was raised, and it was agreed to order up 200 sets of material as per Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}3/R.29.11.33. It was decided that all parts likely to be affected by modifications should be held up as far as possible without interference with continuity of output until the modifications which are to be tested on the new 20/25 (referred to in the previous Minute) have been approved. 8. Item 6A. on Agenda. Alteration to Equalisers for Braking. R&S/ET.18.11.33. This refers to the modification which was made to the front brake leverages recently and which has since been found to be undesirable, all the production chassis which were made to the new leverages having been altered back to the original state. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} said that the cost had been comparatively small and was round about £20. 9. Item 6B. on Agenda. Frictional Damped Bumpers. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}1/E22.11.33. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Em10/ET.27.11.33.etc. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} stated that he had arranged with Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} to let Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} have a car as soon as Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is ready to deal with the job. P.II. 10. Item 7 on Agenda. Controllable Shock Dampers. 25 sets Mr. type instructed to be put in hand as per Minute 6. Ref; Hyl/R.4.8.33. Exp. are standardising these for R.2., due to test early next month (December). Sft{Mr Swift}1/DH.{D. Henderson - Showroom}24.11.33. & C1/C24.11.33. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/LosB/HT29.11.33. In discussing this question C. said that Sales difficulties in disposing of the end of the series cars could be very considerably reduced if improvements such as these could be arranged on the last few chassis of a series instead of commencing exactly at the beginning of a new series. He said that there is always difficulty in clearing up the end of a series due to the introduction of improvements at specified chassis - usually at the beginning of a new series. C. also said that there was a difficulty towards the end of every year as a customer did not like to take delivery then as his car became definitely dated for that year and resulted in a very appreciable difference in its secondhand value.
