-4- 25/30 HP. (1) 15,000 Miles Testssin France. 22-G-V is still in France. The roll rod and front road springs have been despatched and we are awaiting results. The bearings have been examined and appear to be in good condition. (2) Steering. Sr. is still complaining of his steerings. We are trying to co-operate with him but at the moment he has not got a bad steering to demonstrate to us because all the chassis are at the Coachbuilders being prepared for the salon. GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} is keeping in touch with Sr. (3) Oil Consumption. Hancock reports that they have had no case of a recurrent complaint after fitting the 'L' section rings. Our oil consumption tests on the bench indicate that the efficiency of the pinned ring is mainly due to increased blow-by.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} In view of this fact it seems doubtful if it will ever be desirable to revert to the pinned ring. Tests are proceeding. (4) Clutch. Hancock reports that the clutch position is now satisfactory. (5) Improved Idling. The Graham scheme has now completed its bench tests and we are shortly going to try it out on the road. So far it does not give promise of being any better than our existing scheme. Other experiments are in hand, however. | ||
