For the attention of Mr.H.R.Buckland.

Dear Sir,

We should be glad to know how things are progressing at your Works in regard to the despatch to us for test of a speedometer incorporating the newly designed total mileage recorder and trip mileage recorder with larger figures. It seems such a long time now since we discussed this together and I shall be glad if you will do everything possible to again urge forward the production of this instrument.

Regarding the model A.T. Speedometer which you sent to us for test for magnetic interference with other instruments. We have tested this and find the same to be perfectly satisfactory but we would point out that this instrument only has to drive at a speed for a given rating than the rev counter on our Bentley chassis and we wonder if the magnetic strength therefore of the two instruments is different, i.e. stronger in the latter case. If this is so then we should expect more interference with the Bentley rev counter than the sample instrument which you sent to us and we should like you to check this point over for us.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
