Probably the running could go on through the nights and get in 3 periods of 6 hrs. 40/50 6 X 40 X 3 = 720 miles/day. 20 HP. 6 X 35 X 3 = 630 " " It will not be absolutely necessary for the cars running in France to be the 'last word' in quietness, the 15,000 miles Silver Ghost started with rather noisy gears but became quiet with running. however I should prefer that at least the axle bevel should be quiet, as noise might indicate distress and wear of the surface of the teeth.
