TO BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to GJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} MP ORIGINAL. E2/M6.9.23. GOSHAWK 11. EXTENSION ON VALVE GUIDE. X4226 We send you herewith drawing No. LeC.1760. shewing a suggestion regarding obtaining extra conductivity without extra valve weight. If this is as good regarding power as the standard engine it should be a benefit. The object of extending the valve guide is to shield the valve stem from heat. The extension is counterbored so that it does not touch the valve stem. The suggestion should be tested for:- (1) Temperature. (2) Obstruction to gas flow. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
