PEREGRINE STARTER MOTOR In connection with experimental work we are carrying out in order to improve the torque and efficiency of the above motor, we should like instructed experimentally:- LAYS (1) Laminated [illegible strikethrough] pole pieces in place of the present solid poles. (2) An armature having 15 slots 3 coils per slot and one turn per coil of bar copper of cross sectional area approx. .0040 sq.ins. This gives 45 comm. bars and should improve the commutation. (3) Slightly smaller polar embrace with a view to ascertaining the amount of flux leakage. We have in mind that an improvement in the performance might also be effected by slightly altering the brush positions and we propose to do this ourselves by slotting the endplate holes.
