-2- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}5/KW.4.7.35. Strap Type Connecting Rods to LsC.3860, with bearings as fitted to No.5 unit on 10,000 miles. Dynamo drive bush to be pressure fed from the low pressure as carried out on Nos.4 & 5 units. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1676 Governor Spring to be fitted. The springs should not have any initial tension on the governor weights and the latter should have up to .010" movement before coming on to the springs. High tension wires to be of rubber covered type with cellulosed cambric covering. Ross-Courtenay terminals. Improved Idler Wheel, which has the lightening holes deleted. This specification should be duplicated as far as possible for future units being built. If any carburetters are being built to the original LOP. E.85021, they should incorporate the following modifications :- (a) Outside balance pipes to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1736. (b) Float Chamber Cover to Ex.17677. (c) Drain pipes from the base of the intake and throttle bores in case of flooding as on Nos. 4 & 5 units. (d) Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1991 slow running jets in brass, to facilitate drilling of .020" dia. hole. (e) Special note be given to the suction piston spindle E.85582, that the hole for housing the needle is flat ended and made within the limits on the drawings.
