RE: 3½ LITRE BENTLEY. With reference to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}2/T.30.5.33. we are concentrating on the detail drawings for all schemes we have received, and are doing our utmost to complete same by the end of the present week, when the position will be as follows :- PARTS HELD UP. (1). Certain parts on the front and rear axles affected by the road wheels and hubs, as the type has not yet been decided. (2). Undershields. The undershields have not yet been finally decided upon, but we suggest that the Works make the undershields for, say, the first 15 chassis from a model. (3). Spare Wheel Carriers. Detail drawings for the type which carries the wheel on the rear of the coachwork are already available, and detail drawings for the side carriers will be completed by the end of this week. We are, however, issuing detail drawings for the side carriers for both types of wheels to the Experimental Department for bumping tests. We require to know the type of wheel before issuing to the Works, also what proportion of side carriers should be ordered. We think Sales might give us some idea regarding this point. From the above it will be appreciated that when the type of road wheel is decided everything will have been released for the first 15 chassis. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
