The car was held up on Sunday June the 11th, to inspectbrakes, alterations to dampers etc.

The two rear dampers have been fitted up as per our N°3 scheme, also the Off Side Front. The near side front the packing is at the other end of the shaft similar to N°2 scheme but using the vee bronze washer, and not vented. The result so far is very good, yesterday's result is the first time no glands showed any weeping.

BRAKES
We have made a lever to give us the equivalent front braking fitted to the equalizing box, using the two levers originally fitted at either end. This does away with the awkward arc of the small levers as we have allready reported. The lever is 2.150 centres giving and increased braking of 23.8% which is approx. the same % as the small levers you sent out. The increased front braking as now fitted, gives us very good results. The car sits down both rear and front with the application of the brakes. There is no feeling that we have got too much front braking.

PIVOTS
The scheme we have fitted to the Near Side to lessen the oil leak has produced a 50% less leak of oil, but has caused more oil to be delivered to the brake toggle shaft with consequently more leak from the drain hole.

HYDRAULIC DAMPERS
We are sending you a complete specification of the work carried out to the dampers by W. Bell. We have left this work entirely to him since he came out. We still maintain that our second scheme is the solution to the prevention of gland leaks.
