ORIGINAL To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Tsn. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Tsn1/LG29.3.28. TWIN-FIVE ENGINE BALANCE. A482 In reply to E3/M24.3.28., it was certainly an exaggeration of mine to say that the torsional balance of the twin-five is comparable with that of the six-cyl. I have worked out to find the actual ratio of comparison with the same cylinders, and it is about 60 to 1, so that the twin-five is almost as good as the twin-six, i.e., excellent for torsional balance, Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/S.S.Tresilian. | ||
