X2628 P/W Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Ps.I/Go.IO.9.24 Re. Road Springs --------------------------- Your memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG.4.9.24 to hand. It is extremely difficult to give you an approximate life of a front spring because as you know so much depends upon the manufacture. Eliminating results of cross grinding and faulty hardening, We and I are of the opinion that the spring needs replacing after 50.000 Kilometres. It is however difficult to follow the life of a spring owing to accidents, breakages, etc., but while we know some springs have had years of service with no apparent external deterioration the above distance is a fairly liberal average.
