To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}3/HP.28.2.33 [Stamp]: RECEIVED 28 FEB 1933 [Handwritten]: X404 Peregrine Camshaft Bearings. We send you herewith: LeC.3390 showing modifications to the oiling of the rear camshaft bearing and putting the oil drain plug for the camshaft tunnel on the cover plate instead of in the crankcase. The reason for altering the position of the drain plug is to make it obvious to anyone what it is for. We have had a case where owing to the drain plug being improperly fitted, No.6. camshaft compartment became quite dry, and in consequence the bearing adjacent to the camshaft wheel seized on the shaft.
