Y10f. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}5/MA.11.11.32. PEREGRINE CAMSHAFT. Lec. 3223. We have run this camshaft on Peregrine 5 unit and are very satisfied with its performance with regard to power. The toe of the camshaft, however, which controls the silence, is not very much better than previously, as you will see from the attached curve Rn.{Mr Robinson}Pr.32. We are not certain how accurately it is possible to machine the toes of the camshafts, but are somewhat concerned at the variations between different cylinders. We have yet to establish how accurately the existing camshafts are made. We are checking one up on a 25HP. Possibly we shall find that they also vary considerably.
