Shock Dampers.

Re Shock Absorbers hydraulically checked. X. 235.
This piece of work has been an unreasonably long time in being tried - 2 years I think.
The report of the bad springing just before the North of France Tour in the autumn of 1911, caused this suggestion.

F.H.R.

The first shock dampers we made were hydraulic ones, but we abandoned them as being expensive, and test could not find any benefit over the friction ones. I believe my first ideas were the better.
