Sidgreaves - MD}2/E30.10.36 Munro told me yesterday that they expect to have this body ready for mounting in not more than 5 weeks from date, and will be quite ready to receive the chassis within a month from date. Re weight reduction, he wrote us a letter on 12th October last stating that he considers they will be able to save a minimum of 2 or possibly 3 cwt. off the present weight of a body of this type. Also, in a letter to Barkers of 30th September I made it clear to them that as regards the method of construction we proposed to leave the question entirely to them and judge by the results and of course the weight of the body in question. In order that there shall be no misunderstanding, however, I have asked Munro to now give us a letter making it clear that the responsibility for the method of construction entirely rests with them, and that they guarantee a saving of not less than 2 cwt, over the present weight of such bodies. In conversation with Munro yesterday at their Works he of course told me he understands all this, but a letter [struck through: writing] from them to that effect will make things very clear and very well understood from both sides, and I will see that I get such a letter without delay.
