COPY Rolls-Royce Ltd. Derby ........EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} Showrooms Sr/EWP{Mr Punt}30/MLG.18.6.35 re Chassis 103-TA Kindly note that when driving this car from Calais to Le Mans, I noticed on arrival at Le Mans that water was escaping from the radiator drain tap, and upon examination I found that the bolt which anchors the engine support damper to the frame had worked loose, fallen out and had gradually wedged itself between the aluminium under shield and the handle of the water tap. Apparently with the vibration of the road the tap had gradually worked itself open. Fortunately there was only about a couple litres of water which had been lost, but we think it advisable to point this out as it is, perhaps, possible for such a thing to occur again, and in the hands of customers it might be disastrous. It was necessary to tighten up the other bolt of support damper, which had also worked loose. Sr/EWP{Mr Punt} | ||
