K.{Mr Kilner} FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} ORIGINAL DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/M10.2.31. C. to SG.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SPECIAL TOURING SALOON. X5120. We send herewith prints of N. schemes 3211/12., shewing a special saloon body on the present 20/25 chassis on the lines of the continental touring saloon on P. 2. ( 26 & 27-EX.) The 'F' column has been achieved by merely lowering the 'E' column, and the pedals are unchanged, so reducing the special pieces on the chassis to a minimum. We have produced these designs as we understood that Sales have had enquiries for such a car, and also they feel that there may be a sale for it as there has been for the continental touring saloon on P. 2. Owing to pressure of work on chassis design we shall not be able to give much of our attention to the actual building of the first bodies, but we hope that it will be possible to turn out a complete car all on at 32.5 cwts. Weight reduction on this model is important, not only in the actual body but in the coachwork accessories used. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} [STAMP: RECEIVED] | ||
