The following items which have previously been released will have to be held up for the following reasons:-

(a) Front Steering Pivots.

There has been a tendency for the steering to become unduly heavy as the result of the lower bearing not getting sufficient oil. We are testing a needle bearing at this point which will go in at the same dimensions, but requires however, a new pivot pin, and a slight modification to the machining of the yoke. A scheme is being prepared. With the exception of these two points, the front suspension is clear.

(b) Gearbox.

A modified isolated change speed mechanism is being made but has not yet been tested. In addition we have found that the tapers at the rear end of the 3rd. motion shaft and transmission shaft behind the gearbox are inadequate and will need modification.

The coupling forming the 3rd. and 4th. sliding piece made similar to Phantom III has flexibility in the form of a concertina and has not yet been tested. We think the tools should be considered for these parts. we are pretty certain it will be cleared providing we are certain about strength.

(c) Battery

to
We are reverting the use of the 25/30. with modified position of the connections in the battery.

(d) Ignition Coil.

In view of the failure of the R.R. 20,000 turn type of coil to start the engine when really cold, the production of the coil in question should be held up.
