Bailey - Chief Engineer} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}3/IH.3.5.34. re:- 5-B-4. --------- We have got the following special features on this body:- (1) Steel bottomsides, wheel arches and rear footwells. (2) Metal floor and seat boards, with vulcanised rubber covering. (3) Reinforced roof sticks, stiffer Sunshine Roof and stiffer cover. (4) Rounded door jambs, lip in front of Sunshine Roof and no screen channel to avoid wind noises. (5) Body and floor covered with limpet asbestos to reduce sound reverberation and booming. We have made an aluminium cover for the back of the dash-board, standing about .375" away, the inside of which is to be covered with limpet. We hope this will keep the front seats cool and reduce the amount of noise coming from the engine through the dash. We would be very glad if you could arrange that all of the fittings on the front of the dash on this chassis (5-B-4) be attached by either studs, or bolts having heads at the back of the dash and held from turning.
