Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} x204 To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}.........from Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Copy to Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} J.L.E. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} re:- Park Ward - Bentley Saloon Running Boards. -------------- Messrs. Park Ward & Co. tell us that the weight of a single running board completely panelled and fitted with rubber strips, together with packing and attachment bolts is 28 lbs. We think this is very heavy and we shall try to get the weight reduced. A large portion of the weight is due to the stainless steel strips carrying the rubber and one cannot help but feel that these strips ought to be made use of as part of the structure, whilst if they are not made use of for this purpose, they ought not to be there. The American type of running board must be very much lighter. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
