NOTES ON A DISCUSSION HELD ON MYTH BONNET AND RADIATOR, ON 12.9.40.

A discussion was held to consider the progress made on Myth body, bonnet and radiator.

1. 6-LIGHT BODY.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAG. produced a drawing showing the 6-light Myth made from the 4-light tools. The body can be obtained by using a new rear door and a new rear quarter light. It's appearance was considered satisfactory.

2. BODY MOULDING.

Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} stressed the fact that if a car was designed to have the right appearance in the normally loaded position, for 90% of it's life it appeared nose-heavy, due to either being empty or only having passengers in the front seat. For this reason, the practice in the past had been to make this line slope to the rear in the normal load position. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAG. agreed that he would give this matter consideration on the full-size drawing board.

3. ROLLS ROYCE RADIATOR.

Two schemes were produced showing the Rolls Royce radiator on the Myth body. Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}'s scheme was considered to have better proportions. It was agreed that Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} would submit a final scheme of the bonnet and radiator of the R.R. type, and that Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAG would ensure that the full size body drawing permitted this bonnet and radiator to be used, with scuttle alterations only.

4. FRONTAL APPEARANCE FOR DESIGNS OF FIRST MYTH.

Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} said that the drawings, water colour sketches and models for the Silver Dawn type of appearance, should be completed before consideration was given to finalising the designs with the R.R. radiator.
