To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.14/AP.14.11.36.

Referring to our memos Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.22/JH.30.10.36. and Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.11/JH.22.10.36. we we wish to run the new lightened Bentley matrix on the next 15,000 miles Bentley, there will probably not be time to bump it first, we should therefore like to cancel the above instructions and substitute the following:-

1. Recondition the radiator off 6.B.1V. which is at present in the Shop by fitting standard matrix unit and replacing such of the shutters as are damaged.

If this is ready in time this radiator should then be used when B.56.BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} is rebuilt - if not of course B.56.BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} car's own radiator will be replaced.

2. Dismantle the matrix unit from 6.B.1V. car's radiator and hand the matrix to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std - rebuild the top and bottom tanks with the new lightened 52.m.m. matrix in readiness for the next 15,000 miles Bentley.

Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.
