Contd:-

This does not mean that we should stop Barkers from carrying on as at present, but it does mean that we cannot circularize coachbuilders to do likewise.

In the very early future, most probably on "India", we will attempt to make the steering column sufficiently rigid and the dashboard sufficiently steady so that the column on raked cars will be self-supported and then instrument boards will be carried only on the body.

On "India" also we hope to introduce a standard scheme of scuttle isolation as at present used by yourselves and other coachbuilders.

These schemes will be considered and submitted for early incorporation on "India" by obtaining Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}'s and CJ's consent to same being brought in at some suitable point in the manufacture of "India".

Since there are a few cars left to be dealt with before "India", we hope that this will be acceptable.

In the case of Mr.Blower of Shrewsbury, we think that his car will be acceptable by the treatment suggested in the first part of our letter, but if it is thought preferable to use the Barker scheme on this car, provided that the owner is satisfied, we suppose there can be no objection.
