To R from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Copy to BN.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Copy to EFC. X.4260 DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}5/CB24-1-21. "GOSHAWK II" - FRAME. We received your telegram this morning instructing us to make the Goshawk frame 34" wide at the rear, and we are proceeding to modify all the pieces involved. The new frame side members are now fully instructed as far as we are concerned. We had set out the wire wheels to some extent, but have up to the present, only been able to obtain full particulars of the Rudge-Whitworth wheels. We are waiting to obtain information about the Dunlop and expect we shall do so immediately, as we asked for it some time ago. As a matter of fact, from our investigations of the Rudge-Whitworth wheel we came to the conclusion that it was possible to get in a 36" frame, but until we get particulars of the Dunlop it is difficult to say for certain. I am going to send a print of the rough scheme we had made for Rudge-Whitworth with this in case it is of any interest, but we are concentrating on a frame 34" wide.
