X.601. Extract from EHL/AT22.5.17. Testing Experimental "C" engine in DH{D. Henderson - Showroom}4 Machine. X.1918 We sent the engine away fitted with K.L.G. plugs, we found that with 5.3 compression ratio we could not use anything else on the bench. These plugs have given trouble in the air, due to oiling up. It was after a very long glide the machine had to make a forced landing because of them missing fire . We are now having Lodge Plugs similar to those fitted on the standard engines. These certainly will be very much less likely to overoil, but at low altitudes, full power, they may pre-ignite.
