Re memo. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}8/KW8.4.36. the Propeller Shaft concerned has been examined and the faulty points noted -
1. The Pivot Pin in rear joint was damaged on spherical ends due to bad assembly and show signs of picking up.
2. Bearings. "Heldite" which is being used on joint faces was found in needle roller bearings also on the spherical ends of bearings.
The above would account for the conditions complained of. This Propeller Shaft was built, tested for balance, and supplied by Production.
