Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} C: Mr D Ac on. [redacted] C. C.PT. [redacted] X4244 RECEIVED BY9-P31.10.21. GOSHAWK 11. FLYWHEEL & CLUTCH. G.50339. With reference to the back piece bolted into the flywheel which takes the wear of the clutch, I consider that we should produce this in cast iron for the experimental chassis which we are building in the Works. I understand the Works have some steel discs which are finished - these they could use, but any further experimental chassis the Works build should, I think, have the part in question produced as a cast iron piece. When the matter has been throughly tested out Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, will probably be able to give us a decision as to whether mild steel or cast iron is the best material. BY.{R.W.
