TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} C. to BJ. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} ORIGINAL R8/M9.7.27. 20HP. CRANKSHAFT. X5010 E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} will send a drawing shewing the application of the increased dia. of journal bearing, and the change to the G.1. slipper flywheel, for testing. This has already been done by HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} but requires a permanent arrangement. It is thought that this will prevent any further serious trouble with the crankshaft, and also prepare it for the improved head, and greater performance in MEP. and speed.
