GOSHAWK 11. CARBURETTER. X.4228.

We send you herewith a blue print of Lsd.1467 shewing the Goshawk 11. Carburetter fitted with a silencer.

The silencer should be tried with and without the internal drilled tubes. We wish to point out that the starting carburetter has been slightly modified by Mr. Royce, but this blue print shews the final design.

We are dealing with the alterations to the control gear for operating the butterfly throttle only by foot and hand, which should simplify it considerably, and we are scheming the necessary connections for working the small cylindrical barrel throttle from the instrument board for starting purposes.

This blue print also shews a .187" copper tube sweated into the bottom of the carburetter to act as a petrol drain. We think this tube clears the control gear.

The air passage of the starting carburetter is a drilled hole communicating with the air inlet to the main jets, thus all the drainage petrol is dealt with by the one pipe. The overflow point of the starting jet has been made the same height as the main jets.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
