-6- With the Bentley I should imagine that one could cruise at 70 or 80 m.p.h. all day long and never feel the least bit tired as a result. I have ventured to make a few criticisms in this letter but I should be quite prepared to be told that of course the majority of people who would buy such a car would not use it in the manner in which I did, and would not think of putting it to the same rather extreme test. All of this is perhaps true, and a good deal of what I have said is probably purely a matter of personal opinion and no doubt can be discounted as such. At the same time, it is an absolutely honest criticism and in no way detracts from my most sincere admiration of the performance of a very wonderful car. I know it is useless to say such a thing to Messrs. Rolls-Royce, but I could not help feeling what a wonderful thing it would be to run such a car in, for instance, the Alpine Six Days Trial, or perhaps the big event for Sports Cars which is being organised to take place in Italy next June. I believe that in such an event the Rolls-Royce, if properly handled, would be able to show the world something which would make them all sit up. In conclusion, I can only again thank you ever so much for one of the most wonderful experiences I have ever had. Yours sincerely, P.S. By the way, as a body builder I cannot congratulate Messrs. Vandenglas on the driving mirror fitted to the car: I can assure you that Messrs. Barker - Co. would not even dare to fit such a mirror and bracket to a Ford. Lord Herbert Scott, Messrs.
