Further to our letter of yesterday in which we advised you that we had despatched from our works at Coventry the sample Silencer, this morning we have heard from them (which letter was delayed in the post) that the cut-out arrived at the last minute, but was quite unsuitable for you - this in spite of our very explicit instructions to the firm who undertook to make it for us. Works thought, therefore, that as the matter had been delayed so long it would be better to send on the Silencer to you, and have arranged that your own cut-out can be fitted in place of the one we intended to supply.
