re Chassis Nos.26-EX and 31-GX - Sales Trials.

In writing to me about the fitting of the wider brake shoes and thicker brake drums to these two cars, Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} in his memos Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}9/E5.6.31 and Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}1/E8.6.31 also writes as follows:-

"This seems to be a case where at the same time we should take the opportunity of introducing the modification to overcome rear foot brake groans referred to in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}1/AD29.5.31.

"In connection with the modification to overcome our foot brake groans referred to in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}1/AD29.5.31 I am not sure whether my memo. would be read to mean that this seems to be a case where this modification should be adopted on both the cars quoted"

Will you please let me have particulars of the modification referred to in your memo which Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} quotes, with a view to the improvement being embodied on both cars at the same time as we are attending to the other work.
