-2- Contd. B. Difficulties in connection with topping up the battery or adjusting levels of electrolyte. Having duly removed the floorboards, etc. it was found that there was no difficult in removing the lid{A. J. Lidsey} of the rear unit. (1) The first difficulty encountered was the removal of the lid{A. J. Lidsey} of the front unit. This could not be moved because of jamming of the metal corner pieces with the metal battery box. An hour and a half was spent in endeavouring to get this lid{A. J. Lidsey} off - even then it was not removed. We are arranging to have this lid{A. J. Lidsey} removed somehow to obtain the further information referring to the necessary procedure and difficulties encountered in the routine topping up of the battery. A further report will be made, but in the meanwhile we feel that something must be done to make this job somewhat easier, otherwise after the battery has run on the car for a fair number of miles it will probably be more difficult than ever to remove the parts.
