TWO-UNIT BATTERY FOR PHANTOM.

We duly reported to those more immediately concerned the items of difficult, (tightness, etc.) which were experienced in placing these batteries in the two-unit battery box (on Sports Model chassis 16-EX and 17-EX). That report referred to items of difficulty encountered as a result of various dimensions not coming out as accurately as was anticipated by the design. This matter has now been looked into by DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} and he has agreed to the slight necessary alterations.

In addition to the above we have been concerned as to whether a sufficiently easy access to the electrolyte of all cells for the purpose of adjusting levels or taking density readings can be obtained. At first we were alarmed at the amount that apparently would have to be done in order that this could be properly effected, being as it is, a process which we ask in our Instruction Book to be done weekly. For instance, it was understood that it was originally intended to be necessary, after having removed the necessary floorboards, etc. to remove the lids of the two units, one of which is not of too easy access, to undo and remove the four connections to the battery terminals, lift one, e.g. the rear unit, out bodily and slide the front unit back into the place of the back unit, for topping up, etc. purposes. We have, however, been over this matter with Mr. Day and he says that the body can be arranged
