| FJH{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} Drwg: for 'M' c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 250 DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}3/G.11.11.37. BENTLEY 11 - ENGINE CONTROLS TO SUIT IMPROVED STEERING AS PROPOSED FOR SERIES 'M'. ------------------------------------- Please receive herewith E.CD.213 Modified Controls to suit Wraith type Steering Gear - Bentley 11. In order to use as much of the existing control mechanism as possible, we have merely set the ball ends on a number of the levers to suitable angles to avoid jamming of the ball joint bodies. It is intended that the levers should be made from the existing levers used with the present standard steering column, by setting the ends of the levers to the angles shown on this drawing. The alternative to doing this means an entirely new arrangement of the controls using mostly new parts. We have found it necessary to re-arrange the damper governor controls, and these closely follow an earlier design LeC.4714 which were designed for use when a pressure oil filter was being tried on the Bentley 11 engine. The hand throttle lever on the accelerator countershaft has been moved inwards towards the engine and the control ball reversed, in order to move the lubricator away from the new position of damper governor pull rod. Will you please detail and instruct the necessary parts to be made. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
