(WRAITH STEERING COLUMN). [Typed Body] Since we are modifying the die of the bracket holding steering column to frame, we think we ought to deal with the trouble experienced on the present Bentley of being unable to tighten the steering on the frame. Four bolts as on 25/30 are not convenient because of the cutting away of the side member strength, and we suggest that the two existing bolt bosses be run up until the nuts are above the rocker shaft tunnel thus, so as to make the nuts accessible for tightening :- A new steering box pattern with the features indicated on RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}342 permanently added is required, and also a new pendulum lever/die. [The word 'die' is struck through] In other respects we think the Ex. details can be followed. [Handwritten Note] The pendulum lever for use with RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 342 is existing standard production. JFH [Typed Initials] DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
