| SPECIFICATION OF COACHWORK FOR 3.B.5. Close Coupled Four Door Saloon - Short Wheelbase Bentley. Chassis. B.5. Type Short Wheelbase Bentley chassis - for all drawings of which see prints already supplied. Untarnishable finish. One spare wheel on the off-side, wheels 16 x 6.5 Dunlop wire. Body. Close Coupled Four Door Saloon - see PD.206. Shell Construction. Park Ward - All Metal construction. Based on the tried design already used with success on the Production Bentley. Panelled in steel, except doors and boot lid{A. J. Lidsey} which can be panelled in aluminium. Front Wings. Alum. S.W.G.16 as drawn on PD.206, and without running boards - Front apron to be supplied by coachbuilder. Rear Wings. Alum. S.W.G.16. Carried entirely on the rear wheelarch. Petrol filler in nearside rear wing. Stone Shields. Of latest approved pattern. Doors. To be as thin as possible. Front door hinged on centre pillar, and rear door on rear pillar, by means of external hinges provided with lubrication. Interior door handles to be on lock spindles except that of the driver's door which should have remote control. Quick-lift control to driver's door window. Windows - Triplex Toughened Glass 3/16" thick.
