X5410 Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} c. BY/HEB.{H. Biraben} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY/C6/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 18.5.25. "INDIA" FRONT ROAD SPRINGS. With reference to the telegram received from WW. instructing us to put in hand front road springs for "India" chassis with a .5" camber, also springs 25% stiffer than standard Goshawk, with an initial deflection of 2.100", we pointed out that the latter deflection did not give an increased stiffness of 25% but 19% We have now been advised that Mr.Royce will be content with 20% stiffer springs, as it is important that we make them with an initial deflection of 2.100 We have handed to you blueprint of F.53535, giving particulars of the 20% stiffer springs, and shall be glad if you will instruct Firths to supply four off each, 550 lbs, 600 lbs, 650 lbs and 700 lbs.
