To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X.5410 I N D I A.{Mr Adams} DAL/M15.5.25. FRONT SPRINGS. With reference to the clearance between the springs and the buffers causing too frequent hitting of the buffers, we suggest that an immediate improvement might be effected by cutting the buffer in the way shewn in the sketch below so that it would hit between the clips instead of on the top of the clips. The volume of rubber would still be quite substantial and the reduction of stiffness might be an advantage in reducing the force of the blow. We suggest that this is an experiment that might be tried immediately. SEE ORIGINAL FOR SKETCH. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
