COACHWORK SPECIFICATION.
--------------------
PHANTOM SPORTS.

CHASSIS. Standard Phantom short chassis. Nickel finnish. 6.750 x 33 Low Pressure Tyres. Special Raked Column and side levers. See special Chassis Print which will be issued for this job.

TYPE OF COACHWORK. Sports Four Seater. see N.Sch. 2468.

FRAMING, PANELLING & MOUNTING. The body is to be framed, ironed and panelled by the builders using their best known construction for this class of coachwork, to give the maximum durability with the minimum weight. The body must be set out in detail, full size, when EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} will arrange to incorporate the proposed designs for the four point suspension system. No construction should be put in hand until the design has been approved.

WINDSCREEN. Front screen to be of the sloping "V" type with fixed Triplex glasses, having no metal channel along their bottom edge in order to facilitate the driver's vision. Smith or any other better screen wiper to be fitted. Side screens to open with the doors. A full sized scheme of the screen to be submitted to EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} for approval.

SCUTTLE. The rear screen to fold under the forward portion of the rear seat cover when not in use. As this will be a special screen we would like to approve the final design. Facing forward louvres to match those on the bonnet to be fitted to the scuttle to permit of a blast of cool air being admitted to the scuttle. A slide inside will close them over when the air is not required. The scuttle and dash are to be totally isolated save for the friction damper which will be supplied by R-R Ltd. to be fitted by the coachbuilder.

WINGS. The wings are to be of either sheet steel or aluminium. ( to be decided after consultation.) Sheet metal stays will be supplied for the front wings by R-R Ltd. The rear wings must be carried entirely off the body. For the design of wing see N.Sch.2468. We also suggest the coachbuilder refers to our full size and scale models. A drip edge is to be fitted inside the outer edges of the wings to prevent mud being driven on to the body.

SQUABS & CUSHIONS. Back squabs to be made with springs and curled horse hair. All cushions to be pneumatic. The height of the driver's cushion when compressed must agree exactly to the dimnesion given on N.Sch.2468. The rear cushion should be made as low as shewn or lower if possible.

REAR SEATS. The rear seats are to be entirely covered in when not in use by framed and panelled covers. The forward portion is to hinge up with a balanced motion, whilst the rear portion should be similarly balanced to turn back to form the squab of the rear seat.
