The proposed body and coachwork for the first Sports Phantom chassis.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RE SPORTS PHANTOM. -------------- We are sending you herewith a scale drawing of the proposed body which we wish to have built for the first Sports Chassis, together with a detailed specification of the coachwork. We also enclose two water colour pictures of the finished car to illustrate the appearance of the body, and its suitability for treatment with a two colour scheme. The blue and white car is the most accurate of the drawings and shews that we have been able to preserve a greyhound-like appearance. The third sketch on tracing paper roughly indicates a finish in red and grey. We presume that you will send a print of N.Sch.2468. and a copy of the specification to Messrs Jarvis and Son, of Grove Road, Merton, Surrey. and fix up a price. When you have been able to settle this financial business, we would be glad if you would let us know, so that we can go ahead. You will see that we have asked that before any work is put in hand we wish to see the full size drawing. We hope that, by the joint knowledge of Messrs Jarvis and that which we have obtained from Messrs Barker's in connection with 10.EX., we shall make a big step forward. We suggest that the builders be asked to give us a date when they will be ready with the finished full size drawing, and when they can complete the job if we do not delay them. You will note that we ask that the weight of the entire coachwork should not, if possible, exceed 6.cwt.
