Y6 020A Ry. from EFC. c. Ry/CS. EFC3/AD22.5.30. X.6020. ALUMINIUM WIRING TUBES FOR L.H. PHANTOM CHASSIS. This will confirm our conversation of yesterday that you will arrange for the paper lining tubes E.80746/7 of the wiring tubes as at present instructed in Ry/CS6/IG13.5.30 to be omitted, at least in such of these tubes as are used on experimental cars, as it is our recommendation from observation, as referred to in our EFC3/AD25.2.30 that these be omitted. It was noted that the heating and cooling effect on the paper lining is to destroy the correct registration of the H.T. wire holes of the paper lining with those of the steel tube, in such a way that the wires might suffer damage by the edges of either tube cutting into them. In some case it has actually been observed that the wires cannot be removed without destruction. Ry. said he would instruct for the paper tubes to be omitted. EFC. | ||
