to HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} copy to H.R. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X7830 EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/4.9.26. RE BODY FOR EAC VII. FIRST CHASSIS. X7830 We send herewith N.Sch.2245, 2248 & 2261. Would you kindly return us two extra prints of each for sending to the coachbuilders. In the case of N.Sch.2248 these prints should be coloured as the original. Also we would be glad if you would return the original of N.Sch.2245. N.Sch.2245 shews the Enclosed Fixed Roof Cabriolet which we have designed in conjunction with Messrs Hooper & Co. who have agreed to build the body on a 66 2/3% basis. The attached specification describes the body in detail and how the work is to be devided up between Derby and Hoopers. N.Sch.2248. shews the structure of the body on the subframe, and illustrates the cause which forced us to move the body cross-member forward to clear the extra seats. N.Sch. 2261 is the arrangement of the Instrument Board. There has yet to be added the starter switch which will be fitted by Derby. Messrs Hooper & Co will supply the Instrument Board fitted with the frame for the patch of instruments, the locker, main switch, controls and scuttle light. Derby should seethat they are provided with the necessary parts with the chassis. We shall shortly be considering the design of dipping beam lamps for the car. We are rather waiting for more details of the new lamp which Messrs Lucas are proposing to introduce and for which we have written. The first car should have fixed lamps if we have nothing else ready in time. | ||
