E.R. Hall.

You will be receiving a visit from Mr. E.R. Hall as regards an entry for Le Mans and the T.T. this year.

Mr. Hall has had a lot of work carried out in the Vickers wind tunnel as regards reducing the drag of the car. We have examined the tests and if the wind tunnel results materialise on the actual car he should get an increase of 14 M.P.H. at the same power unit as he had for last year's T.T. This is equivalent to an increase of 40 or 50 HP.

Our own view is that the results which E.R. Hall has obtained in the Competitions he has entered for have been very valuable. If the Bentley car is to be kept in the front of the Sports Car Class we know of no better way than to help E.R. Hall in his competition.

We must carry on with the development of the Big Bore engine. We are not getting anything like the gain in power at the top speed which is possible.

I personally encouraged E.R. Hall to spend his money on wind tunnel tests explaining to him that we had done a lot to help him and that he had not done enough to help himself.

We would like your permission to prepare a Large Bore unit for E.R. Hall's use for competitions. I understand he has a new chassis on order.
